I spent the week before Christmas and the holidays themselves in Poland. Although I had quite a few things to do at the office, I was able to get to know my colleagues from the Warsaw office and go out with them after work for some “home-brewed” beer and Polish food. Mom and I would spend the evenings together and I even managed to take her out to the movies to see “Love in the Times of Cholera” that we both enjoyed. More so, I got to spend time with my cousins and I’m beginning to get to know them better, which I think is absolutely great. I wouldn’t trade growing up in another country and the experiences I’ve had, but I do feel that I’ve missed out on things like these by not living there or spending enough time during summer vacation.
